Headley FC were formed in 1930 and played their early football in the Farnham League winning the Farnham Cup in 1963/4 and Alton Cup in 1964/5. Headley United joined the Aldershot League (ADFL) in 1995 with two teams. The First team won Division 2 in 1996 and followed this success by winning Division 1 in 1997. Following a successful 2006/07 season in the Senior Division they became one of the founder teams of the Hampshire Premier League (HPFL) in 2007. Two good years followed but after a tough season in 2009/10 the Team re-joined the ADFL winning both the Senior Division and the Senior Division Cup at the first attempt in 2010/11. In 2013/14 the 1st Team returned to the HPFL, finishing 3rd in the Senior Division and also won the ADFA Saturday Intermediate Cup beating Hale Rovers in the final. In 2014/15 the 1st Team retained the ADFA Saturday Intermediate Cup beating Yateley Town FC in the final held at Fleet Town FC and the Reserves moved up from the ADFL to the HPFL Combination Division. In 2016/17 the 1st Team dropped down to Division 1 of the HPFL where they have competed ever since. The Reserves remained in the HPFL Combination until it discontinued in 2019, re-joining the ADFL Senior Division in 2019/20.

A 3rd "Academy" Team competed in the ADFL for 3 seasons from 2012/13 to 2014/15 and again for 1 season 2018/19.
